The "Thug Angel" - Nelson Kent

We are pleased to welcome one of the top prospects in the Southern United States, Nelson Kent. Kent has exemplified incredible technique, power, and control on the ground and his abilities to hunt for the finish constantly make him the most dangerous submission-grappler in the Memphis area. Kent is the second of two children to Catherine and Cullen Kent, and the brother to Lillian Kent. Nelson is very much a family man, making sure to always highlight the importance of family after competition. He is known for his ground control and power-slam takedowns. Kent is a master of his art, often dictating the fight from the very beginning. If he wants you on the ground, you will end up on the ground. While Kent is relatively new to the striking aspect of combat, he has been quick to silence all the doubters with his impressive showcases in the world of boxing. Kent has competed for some of the best teams in the region, such as Memphis Judo & Jiu Jitsu and Fite Nite MMA. Impressive right? It only becomes more impressive when you learn that Kent is still in High School. Many of Kents coaches and teammates have taken to the nickname "Thug Angel" because of his entertaining "thug-like" fighting style. While Kent was an incredible student in the classroom, he is an even better student of the fight game. We are honored to welcome the Thug Angel to our fight team and excited to witness his career unfold.

Brotherhood in the Octagon

Behind every one of our fighters is a story. Nelson Kent and Cameron Starnes began training together when they were sophomores in High School. They began their training at Memphis Judo & Jiu Jitsu before Kent focused his time on wrestling, and Starnes focused his time on kickboxing. Summer of 2025, Kent and Starnes returned to the octagon with new-found skills and were quick to show the world that they are the best prospects that combat sports have to offer. Incredibly dedicated to their craft, they have noted that they have "no backup plan" and that fighting is "do or die". While many friendships between fighters come and go, Starnes and Kent have always stuck side by side, through win or defeat, and helped push each other to be the best fighters possible. Cage Killers is a family, and we are honored to welcome the two fighting brothers of Memphis, TN.
